Mid May I headed towards eastern LI to visit a few farms including Garden of Eve, Golden Earthworm Organic Farm, Green Thumb Farm, and Quail Hill Farm, with an unexpected stop at Paumanok Vineyards in between. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon for a drive. Most farms were a quick pit stop, shorter than my usual farm visits. Got the first of their strawberries of the season from Golden Earthworm, and a variety of vegetables from Green Thumb along with some more produce on Saturday from Quail Hill Farm’s farmstand at the Sag Harbor farmers’ market. I was thrilled that the Sag Harbor farmers’ market opened for the season when I was there.
